Summit County Weekend

With all the chaos of planning a wedding, we've been lacking for free weekends this summer. This past weekend was one of our three free weekends from May - Sept, so we took advantage of it and went to Summit County to raft, hike and camp. We found a secluded camping spot outside of Breckenridge in the national forest, and spent Friday night around the fire.

We woke up early Saturday and headed over to the Colorado River, where we put in for an afternoon of rafting. The low waters made navigating around the rocks difficult for Aaron, but it was a nice day. Leroy was a good passenger, too.

Even though the waters were low, we risked it a did some cliff jumping.

After drinking a few too many beers on Saturday night, we all had a hard time getting out of our tents Sunday morning.

We headed east towards Georgetown and drove up to hike Mount Bierstadt. It's only a seven mile climb, so we summited in about four hours.

While at the top, Aaron enjoyed a tantalizing lunch.

I noted my future martial status on the register.

We probably won't be doing much more hiking or rafting in the next three weeks. Love, the future Mrs. Nagel
